Norwegian Meatballs in Sauce
Scandinavian-spiced meatballs made with beef, pork, mashed potatoes, cloves, allspice, and nutmeg, broiled until golden and served in a rich cream sauce.

- 1 0.5 lb extra lean ground beef
- 0.5 lb extra lean ground pork
- 1 egg
- 1 cup mashed potatoes
- 0.5 cup milk
- 2 tsp seasoning salt
- 0.3 tsp ground cloves
- 0.3 tsp allspice
- 0.3 tsp ground ginger
- 0.3 tsp black pepper
- 0.3 tsp nutmeg
- 0.5 tsp brown sugar
- 1 cup beef broth
- 0.5 cup heavy cream
- 0.5 cup chopped parsley

Preheat oven to 400°F. Combine all ingredients except beef broth, cream, and parsley. Mix well.

Shape into about 24 meatballs (1½ inch). Roll lightly in flour.

Place on broiler pan rack and bake for 20 minutes. Drain.

Heat broth and cream in a saucepan; add meatballs and simmer until sauce thickens.

Garnish with chopped parsley and serve over egg noodles.
