Steak Roulade

Thin round steaks rolled around a filling of chopped onion and bacon, tied and slow-cooked in the crockpot all day until meltingly tender. Optional pan gravy at the end.

  • 3 lb thin round steaks
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 0.8 cup onion, chopped
  • 0.8 cup bacon, chopped
  • 0.3 cup water

Instructions

    Trim fat off steaks. Season with salt and pepper.

    Mix chopped onion and bacon; spread over each steak.

    Roll steaks (jelly-roll style) and tie tightly in several places with string.

    Place in slow cooker. Add water. Cover and cook on LOW for 8 hours.

    For gravy, remove meat when done and thicken liquid with flour mixed with water; cook on HIGH for 15 minutes.
