- 0.5 cup packed brown sugar
- 0.3 cup butter or margarine
- 0.5 tsp vanilla
- 1 whole egg white
- 1 cup flour
- 3 tbsp unsweetened cocoa
- 0.5 tsp baking soda
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 0.5 cup butterscotch chips

Heat oven to 375°F. Beat brown sugar and margarine until light and fluffy.

Add vanilla and egg white; mix well.

Add flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt; blend well. Stir in chips.

Drop by teaspoonfuls onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Shape gently into balls.

Bake at 375°F for 8-9 minutes. Cool 1 minute on sheet, then transfer to rack to cool completely.
