  • 4 cups white bread cubes
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 cups water
  • 1 can (14 oz.) condensed milk
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 tbsp margarine or butter, melted
  • 1/8 tsp grated lime rind
  • 1/8 cup sliced almonds (optional)

Instructions

    Place bread cubes in buttered 9 inch square dish.

    In a large bowl beat eggs.

    Add the remaining ingredients to the bowl.

    Mix well.

    Pour evenly over the bread.

    Stove-top directions: Tie the brim of the bowl with plastic wrap or oil paper. Boil till set in a saucepan of boiling water (approx. 40-50 mins).

    Micro-wave directions: Tie the brim of the bowl with plastic wrap or oil paper. Cook on high till set (approx. 20 mins).
