Ma’s Lentil-Ham Soup

A Coleman family recipe for Ma’s Lentil-Ham Soup.

  • 1 lb dry lentils (about 2 1/3 cups)
  • 1/4 t dried marjoram, crushed
  • 1 1/2 c chopped carrot
  • 1 c chopped onion
  • 1 c chopped celery
  • 1/4 c snipped parsley
  • 1 meaty ham bone (about 1 1/2 pounds)
  • 7 c water

Instructions

    Place all ingredients in crock pot with ham bone on top.

    Cover and cook on low heat setting for 9 to 11 hours.

  3. 3

    Lift ham bone from soup.

  4. 4

    Remove meat from bone; chop meat and return to soup.
