Hungarian Goulash (Crockpot)

Authentic Hungarian-style goulash with round steak, paprika, and sour cream — slow-cooked until tender and served over buttered noodles.

  • 2 lb round steak, cut in 1/2" cubes
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 0.5 tsp paprika
  • 0.3 tsp dried thyme, crushed
  • 14 0.5 oz canned tomatoes (1 can)
  • 1 cup sour cream

Instructions

    Put steak cubes, onion, and garlic in crockpot. Stir in flour to coat steak cubes.

    Add salt, pepper, paprika, thyme, and canned tomatoes. Stir well.

    Cover and cook on LOW 8–10 hours (HIGH: 4–5 hours).

    Stir in sour cream 30 minutes before serving.

    Serve over hot buttered noodles.
