Cream Puffs

Classic French cream puffs with golden choux pastry shells filled with creamy vanilla pudding.

  • 7 oz instant vanilla pudding mix (2 packages)
  • 2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • 0.5 cup butter
  • 1 cup water
  • 0.3 tsp salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 whole eggs

Instructions

    Mix vanilla pudding mix, cream, and milk together. Cover and refrigerate to set.

    Preheat oven to 425°F. In a large pot, bring water and butter to a rolling boil.

    Stir in flour and salt until mixture forms a ball. Transfer to a large mixing bowl.

    Beat in eggs one at a time with a wooden spoon or stand mixer, mixing well after each. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto an ungreased baking sheet.

    Bake 20-25 minutes until golden brown and centers are dry. When shells are cool, split and fill with pudding mixture, or pipe filling in with a pastry bag.
