- 6 knackwurst sausages
- 3 cup sauerkraut, rinsed and drained
- 1 apple, peeled and chopped
- 1 tsp caraway seeds
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 cup beer or white wine

If using skillet: cover tightly and simmer over low heat 15–20 minutes.
