Ingredients

Servings
4
  • 12 oz light beer
  • 1 0.5 cup water
  • 2 cup chopped yellow onions
  • 2 lb kielbasa sausage links
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp white vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped parsley

Instructions

  1. 1

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the beer, water, onions, and kielbasa. Season with salt and pepper. Bring to a boil, reduce to a simmer, and cook covered for 25 minutes.

  2. 2

Remove the sausage, cool slightly, and slice into 1-inch pieces. Reserve the cooking liquid.

  3. 3

In a large sauté pan, melt the butter. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1 minute. Add 1 cup of the reserved cooking liquid, whisking until smooth.

  4. 4

Stir in the white vinegar and sugar. Simmer for 5 minutes until the sauce thickens. Season with salt and pepper.

  5. 5

Return the kielbasa to the sauce and heat through. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve over egg noodles or mashed potatoes.
