Panda Express Orange Chicken

- 2 lb boneless skinless chicken, cut into 2-inch pieces
- 1 whole egg
- 1 0.5 tsp salt
- 0.5 cup cornstarch
- 0.3 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp minced ginger root
- 1 tsp minced garlic
- 0.3 cup chopped green onions
- 2 tsp minced orange zest
- 0.3 cup fresh orange juice
- 1 tbsp light soy sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil
Instructions

In a bowl, stir together egg, salt, and white pepper. Add chicken pieces and mix well. Stir in 1 tablespoon oil.

Mix cornstarch and flour together. Add chicken pieces and stir to coat.

Heat oil for deep-frying to 375°F. Fry chicken in small batches for 3 to 4 minutes until golden and crisp. Drain on paper towels.

Combine orange zest, orange juice, sugar, chicken stock, soy sauce in a small bowl for the orange sauce.

Clean wok and heat 15 seconds over high heat. Add 1 tablespoon oil, ginger, and garlic; stir-fry for 10 seconds.

Add green onions, rice wine, and orange sauce. Bring to a boil.

Add cooked chicken and stir until well coated. Stir in sesame oil and serve over steamed rice.
