- 2 cups brown sugar
- 1 cup butter
- 2 eggs
- 3 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon soda, dissolved in 1 tablespoon hot water
- 1 ¼ cup dates
- ½ cup water
- ½ cup sugar
- ½-¾ cup nuts
Instructions

Roll dough ½-inch thick and spread filling, then roll like a jelly roll and chill.

When ready to bake, slice.
