Ingredients

Servings
4
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 clove garlic, minced
  • 0.3 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 lb center-cut loin pork chops (4 chops)
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 0.3 cup dry red wine or beef broth
  • 0.5 cup walnuts, coarsely chopped

Instructions

  1. 1

In slow cooker, combine onion, garlic, and 3 tbsp of the parsley.

  2. 2

Sprinkle pork chops with pepper; dust with flour. Arrange over onion mixture, overlapping slightly if necessary.

  3. 3

Pour in wine. Cover and cook at LOW until pork is very tender when pierced, 7–8 hours.

  4. 4

Shortly before pork is done, spread walnuts in a shallow pan and bake at 350°F for 8–10 minutes until toasted.

  5. 5

Lift pork chops to a warm platter. Skim and discard fat from onion mixture; season with salt.

  6. 6

Spoon onion mixture over chops; sprinkle with toasted walnuts and remaining 1 tbsp parsley.
