  • 4 each ts Salt
  • 1 each ts Pepper
  • 1 each ts Chili powder
  • 1 each ts Garlic powder
  • 1 each ts Onion powder
  • 0.3 each ts Cayenne pepper
  • 3 each ds Liquid smoke
  • 0.5 each c Water
  • 2 lb Round, flank steak or other

Instructions

    Cut meat thinly.

  2. 2

    Mix marinade ingredients together in a bowl.

  3. 3

    Dip meat slices into marinade.

  4. 4

    Place dipped meat in layers in a bowl or dish.

  5. 5

    Pour remaining marinade sauce over meat.

  6. 6

    Cover tightly and let marinate in refrigerator for 6 to 12 hours.

    Rotate layers of meat occasionally.

  8. 8

    Place in dehydrator until dry.

  9. 9

    While meat is drying, blot excess oil with paper towel.

  10. 10

    Makes 1/2 pound jerky.
