Wendy's Spicy Chicken Fillet Sandwich
Copycat Wendy's spicy chicken sandwich — pounded chicken fillets marinated in hot sauce, coated in cayenne-spiked flour, and deep-fried golden.

- 4 whole chicken breast fillets
- 0.3 cup Frank's Original Red Hot Pepper Sauce
- 0.7 cup water
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 0.5 tsp salt
- 4 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp coarse ground black pepper
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 0.5 tsp paprika
- 4 whole plain hamburger buns
- 8 tsp mayonnaise
- 4 leaves lettuce
- 4 slice tomato

Preheat 6–8 cups of oil in a deep fryer to 350°F.

Combine hot sauce and water in a small bowl.

Mix flour, salt, cayenne, black pepper, onion powder, paprika, and garlic powder in a shallow bowl.

Pound each chicken fillet with a mallet until about 1/2 inch thick at thickest part.

Dip chicken in the hot sauce-water mixture, then coat generously in seasoned flour. Repeat for extra crunch.

Deep fry 8–10 minutes until golden and cooked through. Drain on paper towels.
