- 2 lb sirloin beef, cut into chunks
- 2 cup potatoes, cut in large pieces
- 2 cup carrots, cut in large pieces
- 2 cup celery, cut in large pieces
- 1 bag frozen small whole onions
- 1 slice white bread, torn in pieces
- 16 oz canned whole tomatoes with juice
- 2 tbsp dry minced onion
- 3 tbsp quick-cooking tapioca
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 10 0.8 oz can condensed tomato soup
- 1 tsp salt
- 0.3 tsp black pepper
Instructions

Place all ingredients in a large slow cooker in the order listed. Do not stir.

Cover and cook on LOW for 5 hours.

Do not lift the lid or stir during cooking — this ensures the tapioca thickens the stew properly.

Serve directly from the pot. Add additional vegetables as desired.
