Steak Alla Pizzaiola

  • 2 lb rib roast steaks (4 steaks)
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 0.5 tsp red pepper (optional)
  • 1 tbsp parsley, chopped fine
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 4 large Italian plum tomatoes, freshly ground
  • 0.3 cup dry red wine
  • 2 tbsp oil (for steaks)

Instructions

    Chop the lard and garlic very fine. Brown in a frying pan.

    Add tomatoes, 1 glass of water, and wine. Cook slowly for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

    Add salt and pepper to taste.

    In another pan, sauté steaks in oil until brown on both sides.

    Place steaks in the tomato sauce and cook in a 300°F oven for 15 to 20 minutes.

    Garnish with parsley and serve.
