Spiced Apple Muffins

   Page 81 1 Egg 1 c Apple sauce 1 1/2 c Sifted flour 1/3 c Melted butter 2 ts Baking powder 1/2 ts Sugar 1/2 ts Salt 1 ts Cinnamon 1/2 ts Nutmeg Cream together shrotening and sugar. Add egg. Sift dry ingredients, add dry ingredients alternately with milk to creamed mixture. stir in apple sauce. Fill greased muffin cups 3/4 full and Bake at 400 F 20-25 minutes. Cool for 10 minutes, then dip each muffin top into melted butter, followed by mixture of sugar and cimmamon. Serve warm or cold.
