Sourdough Soy Bread

A homemade bread recipe for Sourdough Soy Bread.

  • 2 loaves
  • 2 cup warm water

  • 5 cup flour
  • 2 tbs white sugar
  • 0.8 cup sourdough starter
  • 2 tbs brown sugar
  • 1 0.5 tsp salt
  • 3 tbs oil or melted butter or margarine
  • 1 0.5 cup soy flour

    Combine 1 cup warm water, 2 cups flour, 2 tbs white sugar and the starter and beat well. cover and let set out in a wrm place overnight until light and foamy . In the morning add the remaining cup of water, brown sugar, salt, oil and soy flour. Beat well. Now add remaining flour and turn out onto board and knead well, adding only enough more flour to make a smooth, non sticky dough. Place in buttered bowl, cover and let rise until double about 2 to 2 1/2 hours. Punch down and divide into 2 parts. Let rest 10 minutes shape and place into 2 buttered loaf pans. Cover and let rise double in pans. Bake in a preheated 350 oven for about 40 to 50 minutes or tested done.
