Slow Cooker Swiss Steak

  • 1 0.5 lb round steak, 3/4-inch thick
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.3 tsp black pepper
  • 1 medium onion, sliced into rings
  • 1 medium carrot, chopped
  • 1 stalk celery, chopped
  • 15 oz tomato sauce

Instructions

    Cut round steak into serving-size pieces.

    Mix flour with salt and pepper. Dredge steak pieces in the seasoned flour.

    Place onion rings in the bottom of the slow cooker.

  4. 4

    Arrange floured steak pieces on top of the onions.

    Top with carrots and celery. Pour tomato sauce over everything.

    Cover and cook on LOW for 8 to 10 hours, or on HIGH for 3 to 5 hours, until steak is very tender.

    Serve with mashed potatoes or egg noodles.
