Slow Cooker Corned Beef and Cabbage

  • 2 whole medium onions, sliced
  • 2 0.5 lb corned beef brisket
  • 1 cup apple juice
  • 0.3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tsp orange peel, finely shredded
  • 2 tsp prepared mustard
  • 6 whole whole cloves
  • 1 head cabbage, cut into wedges

Instructions

    Place sliced onions in the bottom of the crockpot.

    Trim excess fat from brisket. Cut to fit crockpot if needed; place on top of onions.

    Combine apple juice, brown sugar, orange peel, mustard, and cloves; pour over brisket.

    Place cabbage wedges on top of brisket.

    Cover; cook on low for 10 to 12 hours, or on high for 5 to 6 hours.

    Slice brisket and serve with cabbage and braising liquid.
