Sizzler Fried Shrimp

Copycat Sizzler steakhouse fried shrimp — jumbo shrimp coated in a seasoned flour, egg wash, and herbed breadcrumb crust, deep-fried to golden perfection.

  • 1 count egg, beaten
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour, sifted
  • 1 cup dry bread crumbs
  • 1 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp dried basil
  • 0.5 tsp dried parsley
  • 1/8 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/8 tsp onion powder
  • 24 count jumbo shrimp, uncooked, peeled and deveined
  • 4 cup vegetable oil, for frying

    Combine beaten egg and milk in a bowl; set aside. Place flour in another bowl. Combine bread crumbs, salt, basil, parsley, garlic powder, and onion powder in a third bowl.

    Heat oil in a deep pan or fryer to 350°F (175°C).

    Dip each shrimp first in flour, then in the egg-milk mixture, then in the seasoned bread crumbs.

    Fry shrimp in hot oil 3–4 minutes until golden brown.

    Drain on paper towels and serve immediately with cocktail sauce or tartar sauce.
