Crispy Fried Shrimp

  • 24 jumbo shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup dry bread crumbs
  • 1 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp dried basil
  • 0.5 tsp dried parsley
  • 1/8 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/8 tsp onion powder
  • 2 cup oil for frying

Instructions

    Beat egg with milk in a shallow bowl. Place flour in a second bowl. Combine bread crumbs, salt, basil, parsley, garlic powder, and onion powder in a third bowl.

    Heat oil in a deep skillet or fryer to 350°F (175°C).

    Dip each shrimp in flour, then egg mixture, then seasoned bread crumbs.

    Fry shrimp in batches 3–4 minutes until golden and cooked through. Do not overcrowd.

    Drain on paper towels. Serve immediately with cocktail sauce or tartar sauce.
