Sisters of Lourdes Hospital Ice Cream with Variations
Ingredients
- 4 each whole eggs
- 3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 each ounce) can evaporated milk
- 3 pint half-and-half *

Beat together the above ingredients.

Add ingredients listed under one of the following variations: Peach To the basic recipe add 6 or 7 finely chopped (or put in blender) ripe peaches.

Banana To the basic recipe add 3 mashed, ripe bananas.

Chocolate In the basic recipe substitute 1 can Hershey’s® syrup for 1 cup of sugar.

Chocolate Chip Partially freeze chocolate ice cream, then add 1/2 cup finely grated baking chocolate, chocolate candy bar or chocolate chips.

Cherry To the basic recipe add 1/4 cup finely chopped maraschino cherries and 2 tablespoons cherry juice.

Coffee Add 2 tablespoons instant coffee powder to the basic recipe and freeze.

Peppermint Crush 1/2 pound peppermint candy.

Soak in milk for 2 hours and add to basic recipe.

Praline Crumble 6 pralines into basic recipe and freeze.

Strawberry To the basic recipe add 1 1/2 cups strawberries.

When this mixture is partially frozen, add 1/2 cup finely chopped strawberries. * Add only enough half and half in the basic recipe to fill freezer 2/3 full.

Freeze as per ice cream maker's instructions.
