- 2 cups cake and pastry flour
- 2/3 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
- 1 cup butter, soft
- a little more flour if necessary

Preheat oven to 300F.

Sift flour and sugar together.

Add butter by rubbing into the flour mixture by hand until mixture forms coarse crumbles.

Gather into ball.

Knead gently to form dough. Do not overknead or dough becomes too sticky.

Roll dough on floured surface to desired thickness.

Cut into shapes.
