Seven-Layer Casserole (T&T)

Comforting layered casserole with rice, ham, onion and broccoli in a creamy mushroom-cheddar sauce, finished with golden sautéed sourdough bread crumbs.

  • 1 0.5 cup cooked rice
  • 1 0.5 cup cubed ham
  • 0.5 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 0.5 cup chopped broccoli, cooked and drained
  • 10 oz cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 0.5 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 0.3 cup milk
  • 2 slice sourdough bread
  • 2 tbsp butter or margarine

Instructions

    In a buttered 1½-quart casserole, layer rice, ham, onion and broccoli.

    Combine soup, cheese and milk; spread over broccoli.

    Bake at 375°F for 20 minutes.

    Meanwhile, make coarse bread crumbs in blender; sauté crumbs in butter until light brown.

    Sprinkle crumbs over casserole; continue baking 15 minutes until hot and bubbly.
