Salt Rising Bread

  • 1 tsp sugar removing from pan. Store in foil overnight before
  • 4 cups boiling water
  • 2 cups lukewarm milk
  • 1 cup water GEEZER CORNBREAD
  • 1/8 tsp baking soda
  • 1/8 tsp salt 3 cups yellow cornmeal
  • 3 medium potatoes, peeled and sliced meal greased loaf pan. Bake in cardboard oven at 350 for
  • 3 tbs corn meal about F1 hour. Cook for 20 minutes before

    Take out potatoes, add milk, soda, second salt, and 2 cups Monterey jack, shredded

    shortening. Add enough flour to make dough stiff 1/2jar jalapenos, finely chopped

    when kneading on a floured surface. Form into four 4 eggs, beaten

    loaves and let dough rise to double. Place on cookie 3 cups buttermilk

    sheet and bake in cardboard oven at 400 until top is 6 tbs margarine, melted

    slightly browned.

    In a large pot, combine dry ingredients and mix well.

    Add cheese and jalapenos. Toss well. Add

    buttermilk and melted margarine. Add eggs and mix

    well to make batter. Pour into well greased Dutch baking powder. Add cereal mixture to flour mixture,

    oven and bake at 400 for 25-30 minutes. stir well. Spoon into muffin cups. Sprinkle with nuts.

    Bake in cardboard oven at 400 for 20 minutes.
