Salmon Chowder

  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 0.8 cup chopped onion
  • 0.5 cup chopped celery
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 cup diced potatoes
  • 2 piece carrots, diced
  • 2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp dried dill weed
  • 32 oz canned salmon (two 16 oz cans)
  • 12 oz evaporated milk
  • 15 oz creamed corn
  • 0.5 lb Cheddar cheese, shredded

Instructions

    Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat. Sauté onion, celery, and garlic powder until onions are tender.

    Stir in potatoes, carrots, broth, salt, pepper, and dill. Bring to a boil, and reduce heat. Cover, and simmer 20 minutes.

    Stir in salmon, evaporated milk, corn, and cheese. Cook until heated through.
