Salmon and Cheese Casserole

Layers of fluffy mashed potatoes and flaked salmon in a creamy cheese sauce, topped with buttered bread crumbs and baked until golden.

  • 2 cup mashed potatoes
  • 1 cup hot medium white sauce
  • 1 0.5 cup American or Cheddar cheese, grated
  • 0.3 tsp salt
  • 0.3 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 dash black pepper
  • 2 cup canned salmon, flaked
  • 1 cup buttered bread crumbs

Instructions

    Place mashed potatoes in a buttered casserole dish.

    Combine white sauce, cheese, and seasonings. Stir until cheese is melted.

    Pour half of sauce over potatoes.

    Add salmon to remaining sauce, pour over casserole contents.

    Sprinkle with buttered bread crumbs. Bake at 350°F for 20 minutes.
