Ingredients

Servings
8
  • 1 count 9-inch frozen deep-dish apple pie, thawed 30 minutes
  • 0.5 cup butter
  • 0.5 cup light brown sugar (for glaze)
  • 1 0.5 tsp ground cinnamon (for glaze)
  • 0.3 tsp ground allspice
  • 0.3 tsp ground cloves
  • 1 0.5 tsp lemon juice
  • 0.8 cup all-purpose flour (for streusel)
  • 0.5 cup sugar (for streusel)
  • 10 tbsp frozen butter (for streusel)
  • 1 0.3 cup chopped walnuts

Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Let pie thaw at room temperature 30–45 minutes.

  2. 2

In a small saucepan, melt the stick of butter over medium heat. Add 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1.5 tsp cinnamon, allspice, cloves, and lemon juice. Stir until well blended and sugar is dissolved, about 3 minutes. Remove from heat.

  3. 3

Make the streusel: mix flour, sugar, and the remaining cinnamon. Cut in frozen butter until crumbly. Stir in chopped walnuts.

  4. 4

Pour the glaze over the top of the partially thawed pie. Sprinkle streusel generously over top.

  5. 5

Bake 40–45 minutes until streusel is golden and pie is heated through. Serve warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream.
