Roasted Garlic and Almond Spread

  • 0.3 cup unblanched almonds, chopped
  • 16 each garlic cloves, peeled
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 0.3 cup sour cream
  • 2 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley
  • 1 tsp rosemary (dried)
  • 2 each shallots, chopped
  • 3 tbsp whipping cream
  • 0.3 tsp Tabasco sauce

Instructions

    Toast almonds in heavy pan until slightly brown.

    Place garlic in shallow baking dish.

    Add olive oil and bake at 275 degrees F for 30 minutes.

    Puree garlic and oil in blender.

  5. 5

    Add cream cheese, sour cream, mustard and Worcestershire sauce; blend well.

    Add almonds, parsley, rosemary, shallots, whipping cream and Tabasco sauce and blend well again.

    Chill for several hours and serve with thinly sliced, toasted bread.
