Rigatoni Ala Vodka

  • 2 lb rigatoni
  • 24 oz canned plain tomato sauce
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 0.5 tsp cracked red pepper
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 0.5 oz vodka
  • 1 oz grated Romano cheese
  • 1 oz bacon bits
  • 0.5 oz fresh Italian parsley, chopped

Instructions

    Heat olive oil in a saucepan until hot. Sauté garlic until golden.

    Add tomato sauce, salt, red pepper, black pepper, and basil. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until heated through.

    Add heavy cream and vodka. Stir and cook for a few minutes to blend.

    Cook rigatoni according to package instructions until al dente (do not overcook). Drain.

    Combine drained pasta with the vodka cream sauce in a large bowl and toss thoroughly.
