Preacher's Special

Layered raw potato and ground beef casserole with cream of asparagus and cream of chicken soups poured over each layer. Church potluck staple topped with melted cheese.

  • 0.3 cup butter
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 0.5 lb hamburger
  • 4 medium potatoes, sliced
  • 0 salt to taste
  • 10 0.8 oz cream of asparagus soup
  • 10 0.8 oz cream of chicken soup
  • 0 grated cheese for topping

Instructions

    Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 12x9-inch pan with butter.

    Brown hamburger, onion and green pepper in skillet.

    Put a layer of raw potatoes in bottom of pan. Top with half the meat; pour asparagus soup over this.

    Add another layer of potatoes; top with remaining meat. Pour cream of chicken soup over this.

    Bake for one hour, then top with grated cheese.
