Pizza Hut Original Pan Pizza
Copycat Pizza Hut original pan pizza with a thick, crisp-bottomed deep-dish crust — golden and airy inside, fried on the bottom in oil-coated 9-inch pans.
Ingredients
- 1 0.3 cup warm water (105°F)
- 0.3 cup non-fat dry milk powder
- 0.5 tsp salt
- 4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 package dry active yeast
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil (for dough)
- 9 oz vegetable oil (3 oz per pan)
Instructions
- 1
Combine yeast, sugar, salt, and dry milk in a large bowl. Add warm water and stir to mix. Let sit 2 minutes. Add oil and stir again.
- 2
Add flour and stir until dough forms and flour is absorbed. Turn onto a floured surface and knead 10 minutes.
- 3
Divide dough into 3 equal balls. Pour 3 oz oil into each of three 9-inch cake pans, spreading evenly.
- 4
Roll each dough ball into a 9-inch circle and place in a pan. Spray the outer edge with cooking spray. Cover each pan with a plate and let rise in a warm area 1–1.5 hours until doubled.
- 5
Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C). Top with pizza sauce, cheese, and desired toppings.
- 6
Bake 12–15 minutes until crust is deep golden and cheese is bubbly.
