  • 3/4 cup shortening
  • 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 3 cups instant or regular oats
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. soda

Instructions

    Preheat oven to 350 .

    Beat together shortening, sugars, egg, water and vanilla until creamy.

    Add combined remaining ingredients.

    Mix well.

    Drop by rounded tsp. onto greased cookie sheet.

  6. 6

    Bake for 12-15 minutes.
