Navy Bean Soup

A classic navy bean soup simmered all day with a ham bone and jalapeños, served with chopped tomato and onion.

  • 1 lb navy beans
  • 1 large onion
  • 2 small jalapeño peppers (optional)
  • 1 large ham bone
  • 3 quart water (about)
  • 1 chopped tomato and onion, for serving

Instructions

    Place beans, ham bone, onion, and jalapeños (if using) in a crockpot.

    Add about 3 quarts of water. Simmer all day on high (3–4 hours on stovetop over low heat).

    Adjust seasoning to taste.

    Serve with chopped tomato and chopped onion on the side.
