Key Lime Pie
A pie or pizza recipe for Key Lime Pie.
Ingredients
- 1 0.3 cup vanilla wafer crumbs
- 1 0.5 tsp lime rind
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 0.5 cup melted butter or margarine
- 1 envelope gelatin
- 0.5 cup sugar
- 0.3 tsp salt
- 4 egg yolks
- 0.5 cup lime juice
- 0.3 cup water
- 1 tsp grated lime peel
- 4 egg whites
- 0.5 cup sugar
- 1 cup heavy cream, whipped

Press into bottom and sides of 9-inch pie plate. Bake at 375 degrees fahrenheit for 8 minutes. Cool Filling: Thoroughly mix in saucepan:

Stir into gelatin mixture. Cook over medium heat, stirring, just until mixture comes to a boil. Remove from heat. Stir in:

green food coloring--only enough to give PALE green color (2-3 drops) Chill, stirring occasionally until mixture mounds slightly when dropped from spoon. Beat until soft peaks form:

beating until stiff. Fold in gelatin mixture. Fold in:

Key Lime Pie Pile into shell. Chill until firm. Before serving top with additional whipped cream, trim with grated lime peel. amyl
