Johnny Marzetti Casserole

Ohio potluck legend — ground beef, celery, onion and green pepper with olives, tomato paste, soup and mushrooms, mixed with wide noodles and covered with cheddar cheese.

  • 2 lb ground beef
  • 2 cup chopped celery
  • 2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 cup chopped green pepper
  • 16 oz wide flat noodles
  • 10 oz jar salad olives with juice
  • 6 oz tomato paste
  • 10 0.8 oz tomato soup
  • 8 oz tomato sauce
  • 1 0.5 oz spaghetti sauce mix, prepared per package
  • 4 oz canned mushroom pieces and stems
  • 1 lb grated cheddar cheese

Instructions

    Sauté ground beef, celery, onion and green pepper together.

    Cook noodles as directed.

    Mix meat and noodles together. Add olives, tomato paste, tomato soup, tomato sauce, spaghetti sauce mix and mushrooms.

    Mix all together and turn into a lightly greased pan. Cover with cheddar cheese.

    Bake uncovered at 375°F for 30 minutes.
