Ingredients

Servings
4
  • 5 lb ready-to-eat ham
  • 0.3 cup whole cloves, for studding
  • 0.3 cup dark corn syrup
  • 2 cup honey
  • 0.7 cup unsalted butter

Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat the oven to 325°F. Score the top of the ham in a crosshatch diamond pattern and stud the center of each diamond with a whole clove.

  2. 2

Place the ham in a foil-lined roasting pan.

  3. 3

In the top of a double boiler, heat the dark corn syrup, honey, and butter, stirring until the butter is melted and the glaze is smooth. Keep the glaze warm.

  4. 4

Brush the warm glaze over the ham. Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes, basting with the honey glaze every 10 to 15 minutes.

  5. 5

During the last 4 to 5 minutes, switch to broil to caramelize the glaze until deep golden.

  6. 6

Remove from the oven and let rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
