Hawaiian Vintage Chocolate Chess Pie

- 0.5 cup butter (1 stick)
- 1 cup sugar
- 4 oz dark chocolate, melted
- 4 eggs, beaten
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 0.5 tbsp yellow cornmeal
- 1 unbaked 9-inch pie shell
- 1 quart heavy cream
- 0.3 cup granulated sugar (for spiced cream)
- 0.5 tsp ground cinnamon
- 0.3 tsp freshly grated nutmeg

Preheat oven to 325°F.

In a saucepan, melt the butter. In a mixing bowl, whisk together melted butter and sugar. Add the melted chocolate and whisk until smooth.

Add the eggs, vanilla, and cornmeal. Whisk until fully combined. Pour into the unbaked pie shell.

Bake for 1 hour until set. Remove from oven and cool completely.

For the spiced cream: whip heavy cream with sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg to soft peaks.
