Fish Chowder

  • 0.3 cup finely chopped onions
  • 0.3 cup margarine
  • 0.3 cup flour
  • 2 cup milk
  • 1 each tsp. salt
  • 2 each tsp. lemon juice
  • 0.3 each tsp. dill weed
  • 2 each tbsp. spicy brown mustard
  • 1 each (10 oz.) pkg. frozen codfish or other fresh or frozen fish
  • 1 each -1/2 or 2 cups cooked, cubed potatoes
  • 1 each -1/2 cup soft bread crumbs
  • 0.3 cup melted butter or margarine

Instructions

    Saute onion in margarine.

    Stir in flour.

    Add milk; cook and stir constantly until thickened.

    Add salt, lemon juice, dill weed, pepper, and mustard.

    Cut thawed fish into cubes and add to sauce along with potatoes.

    Pour into a 2 quart casserole.

    Mix bread crumbs with melted margarine and sprinkle on top.

    Bake at 350F degrees for 30 minutes.
