Fettuccine With Cream, Basil, and Cheese

  • 4 slice thick-cut bacon, chopped
  • 4 green onions, chopped
  • 1 cup whipping cream
  • 0.5 cup Parmesan, freshly grated (plus more for serving)
  • 0.5 cup Romano, freshly grated (plus more for serving)
  • 0.3 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 0.5 lb fettuccine
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

    Cook bacon in a heavy skillet over medium heat until beginning to brown. Add green onions and stir until softened, about 1 minute.

    Add cream and simmer until beginning to thicken, about 1 minute. Mix in Romano, Parmesan, and fresh basil.

    Meanwhile, cook fettuccine in a large pot of boiling salted water until al dente. Drain well.

    Return drained pasta to the hot pot. Add the cream sauce and stir to coat. Season with salt and pepper.
