Fettuccine with Cream, Basil and Cheese

  • 4 slice thick-cut bacon, chopped
  • 4 whole green onions, chopped
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 0.5 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 0.5 cup freshly grated Romano cheese
  • 0.3 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 0.5 lb fettuccine pasta

Instructions

    Cook bacon in a heavy medium skillet over medium heat until beginning to brown.

    Add green onions and stir until softened, about 1 minute.

    Add cream and simmer until beginning to thicken, about 1 minute.

    Mix in Romano, Parmesan, and fresh basil.

    Meanwhile, cook fettuccine in boiling salted water until just al dente. Drain well.

    Return pasta to hot pot, add sauce, and toss to coat.

    Season with salt and pepper. Serve immediately with additional grated cheese.
