- 2 0.5 lb unpeeled large fresh shrimp
- 0.5 large lemon, sliced
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 2 tbsp hot sauce
- 1 0.5 tsp olive oil
- 1 0.5 tsp minced garlic
- 1 tsp minced fresh parsley
- 0.8 tsp salt
- 0.8 tsp Old Bay seasoning
- 0.8 tsp dried whole basil
- 0.8 tsp dried whole oregano
- 0.8 tsp dried whole thyme
- 1 head leaf lettuce for serving

Bring 2 quarts of water with the lemon slices to a boil. Add the shrimp and cook for 3 to 5 minutes until bright pink.

Drain well and rinse with cold water. Peel and devein the shrimp, leaving tails intact.

Place shrimp in a large bowl.

Combine vegetable oil, hot sauce, olive oil, garlic, parsley, salt, Old Bay, basil, oregano, and thyme. Stir well with a wire whisk.

Pour the marinade over the shrimp and toss to coat.

Cover tightly and refrigerate for up to 8 hours.

To serve: drain the shrimp and arrange in a large lettuce-lined bowl. Serve with cocktail sauce.
