  • 3/4 Cup Shortening (part butter)
  • 1 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 3 Tbsps. Milk
  • 1 Tsp. Vanilla
  • 2 Cups Flour (sifted)
  • 1/4 Tsp. Baking Powder
  • 3/4 Tsp. Baking Soda
  • 1 Tsp. Salt
  • 2 Cups Oatmeal (quick or rolled)
  • 1-1/2 Cups Dates (cut up)
  • 3/4 Cup (3/4 lb.) Chopped Nuts

Instructions

    Cream shortening - add sugar gradually.

    Cream until fluffy - blend in eggs, milk and vanilla.

  3. 3

    Add dry ingredients.

  4. 4

    Drop from teaspoonful on greased cookie sheet.

  5. 5

    Bake at 375° for 10 to 12 minutes.
