Creamy Scalloped Potatoes

Thinly sliced potatoes layered with onion, flour, salt, pepper, and American cheese, topped with cream of mushroom soup and slow-cooked until tender.

  • 2 lb potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 0.3 tsp black pepper
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 10 oz cream of mushroom soup
  • 0.3 cup flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 4 slice American cheese

Instructions

    Toss sliced potatoes in 1 cup water with 1/2 tsp cream of tartar; drain.

    Place half of potatoes in greased crockpot. Top with half of onions, flour, salt, and pepper. Add remaining potatoes and onions.

    Sprinkle remaining flour and seasonings over top. Pour undiluted cream of mushroom soup over all; top with cheese slices.

    Cover and cook on LOW 8–10 hours or HIGH 4–5 hours.
