Creamy Pork and Apples with Cornmeal Biscuits

- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 3 clove garlic, minced
- 2 large tart green apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
- 2 tsp sugar
- 2 tsp dry sage
- 0.3 tsp white pepper
- 0.3 tsp nutmeg
- 2 0.5 lb boneless pork leg or loin, trimmed and cut into 1-inch chunks
- 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 0.5 cup dry white wine
- 1 0.5 tbsp cornstarch
- 0.3 cup whipping cream

In a 3-quart or larger slow cooker, combine onion, garlic, and apples. Sprinkle with sugar, sage, white pepper, and nutmeg.

Coat pork cubes with flour; arrange over apple mixture. Pour in wine.

Cover and cook on LOW for 8 to 10 hours until pork is very tender.

Mix cornstarch with cream; stir into cooker to thicken sauce.
