Corned Beef and Cabbage (Crockpot)

Classic Irish-American slow-cooked corned beef brisket with apple juice, brown sugar, orange peel, and cabbage — perfect for St. Patrick's Day.

  • 2 medium onions, sliced
  • 2 0.5 lb corned beef brisket
  • 1 cup apple juice
  • 0.3 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tsp orange peel, finely shredded
  • 2 tsp prepared mustard
  • 6 whole whole cloves
  • 6 wedges cabbage wedges

Instructions

    Place sliced onions in crockpot. Trim fat from brisket.

    If needed, cut brisket to fit; place on top of onions.

    In a bowl, combine apple juice, brown sugar, orange peel, mustard, and cloves; pour over brisket.

    Place cabbage wedges on top of brisket.

    Cover and cook on LOW 10–12 hours or HIGH 5–6 hours.
