- 2 cups of sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
- 1 cup cooking oil
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 4 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup of chopped black walnuts
- 3 cups of flour
- 1 cup of flaked coconut
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 2 teaspoons of coconut extract
- 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
Instructions

Combine the sugar, oil and eggs and beat well.

Combine the dry ingredients and add to sugar mixture alternately with the buttermilk.

Stir in the nuts and the coconut extract.

Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 5 minutes in a greased and floured tube pan.

Pour hot coconut syrup over hot cake.
