Clams Oregana Basilico

- 36 clams clams
- 2 tbsp grated Romano cheese
- 2/3 tbsp dry white wine
- 2 tbsp minced fresh Italian parsley
- 3 0.5 cup fresh bread crumbs
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp fresh basil
- 1 tbsp oregano
- 1 tbsp minced garlic
- 2 tbsp olive oil

Combine all stuffing ingredients (bread crumbs, lemon juice, basil, oregano, garlic, and olive oil) by mixing with hands. Use more olive oil if the mixture seems too dry.

Preheat oven to 500°F.

Shuck clams and replace meat on half-shells.

Pack about 1 heaping tablespoon of stuffing on each clam.

Bake in preheated oven for about 10 minutes.

Remove from oven and sprinkle each clam with a few drops of wine.

Return to oven and bake 2 to 3 minutes more, or until lightly browned.

Sprinkle with Romano cheese and parsley. Serve hot.
