Crockpot Chicken à l'Orange

  • 6 whole chicken breast halves, bone-in
  • 10 0.8 oz condensed cream of celery or chicken soup
  • 4 oz canned sliced mushrooms, drained
  • 0.7 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 0.5 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tsp brown sugar
  • 0.5 cup orange juice
  • 0.5 tsp grated orange zest
  • 2 whole sweet potatoes, peeled and sliced 1/4 inch

Instructions

    Combine flour, salt, nutmeg, cinnamon, and a dash of pepper. Coat chicken breasts thoroughly.

    Place sweet potato slices in the bottom of the crock pot.

    Arrange chicken breasts on top of sweet potatoes.

    Combine soup, mushrooms, orange juice, orange zest, and brown sugar; stir well.

    Pour soup mixture over the chicken.

    Cover and cook on LOW 6 to 8 hours or until chicken is cooked through.

    Serve over buttered rice.
